Answer
There is a collaborative national management plan in place for managing the spread of Corbicula fluminea. This approach focuses on pathway management, early detection, and local delivery with regional partners and is reinforced by controlled area notices. Regional Check, Clean, Dry advocacy programmes deliver at-place engagement to influence high-risk river and lake users to undertake good biosecurity practices and stop the spread of invasive species. The treatments promoted through the national Check, Clean, Dry programme are scientifically proven to stop Corbicula fluminea and other freshwater pests from being carried between waterways.
