Answer
In my capacity as Prime Minister, I am the responsible minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). The advice I received from DPMC conveyed the National Security Board’s recommendation to allow the designations of Jaish Al Adl and Shining Path to lapse under the Terrorism Suppression Act 2002 (the Act). A suite of advice, including the respective Statements of Case, was provided to my office on 5 June 2026. The decision is to allow the designation of Jaish Al Adl and Shining Path as terrorist entities to lapse under the Act was taken on 15 June 2026.
