Answer

The original scope of the new Whanganui Hub agreed under the IRG “Shovel Ready” programme included construction of a NZ Police hub building and a custodial care facility. Only the custodial facility will now be delivered under the IRG “Shovel Ready” programme with the NZ Police hub building to be delivered with funding announced in Budget 2026.
