Answer
An additional $14.54 million over the next year for support services to help people sleeping rough was provided to allow for the continuance of selected short-term actions in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch and the expansion into other areas where services could be rapidly stood up. Our understand of need was based on insights gathered during the production of the March 2026 Homelessness Insights Report and local and provider insights.
