What data, if any, has Waka Kotahi provided to the Minister on crash patterns, speed-related incidents, or high-risk behaviours on Desert Road since 2023?

Corrected reply: I have not received any such data, but I have asked NZTA as it maintains the Crash Analysis System (CAS). I am advised that since 2023, there have been 5 fatal and 8 serious crashes on the Desert Road (from Turangi to Waiouru) recorded in CAS. More information can be found in the attached.
