Answer

Section 88(1) of the Arms Act 1983 determines that the responsible Minister must establish an Arms Advisory Group comprising a chairperson and up to 8 other members. As I am the responsible Minister of the Advisory Group, I did not seek agreement from my colleagues to take part in the appointments process. I refer the member to WPQ 271 (2026) to note the part I took in the appointment process.
