Is NZTA currently proposing, consulting on, or implementing a restructure that would disestablish or reduce staff within its internal integrity team; if so, how is this justified during multiple active infrastructure investigations?

Answer

NZTA has multiple teams and roles involved in investigating potential fraud, contract management and alliances, both proactively and reactively in response to internal and external complaints, speak ups or whistleblowers. Key teams include the dedicated Compliance and Integrity team, alongside other roles across the organisation including the Regulatory Investigations team and contract management roles. There are no active restructure proposals or live consultations relating to the internal Integrity and Compliance team at this time.
