I am advised MPI has engaged two contractors who were previously employed by MPI. I am advised $4,025.00 was spent on one engagement between 27 November 2023 and 31 December 2023 for an international food safety standard specialist within New Zealand Food Safety; and $40,026.86 on a science and information specialist in Fisheries New Zealand within 17 March 2026 to 5 June 2026. MPI does not maintain records regarding contractor and consultants’ previous employment with other ministries, agencies, or department.
