Answer
In relation to the Ministry of Education and the New Zealand Qualifications Authority, I refer the Member to my response to written parliamentary question 26036 (2026), noting that the way data is captured does not allow the split for financial and non-financial settlements. I am advised that, between 27 November 2023 and 5 June 2026, Education New Zealand entered into financial settlements totalling $980,427. By financial year, the total costs were: • 2023/24: $116,000 • 2024/25: $732,659 • 2025/26: $131,768. I am advised that, between 27 November 2023 and 5 June 2026, the Education Review Office entered into less than five financial settlements, totalling $69,303. The total cost was $26,850 in 2024, and $42,453 in 2025.
