I am advised by NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi that Ōtaki to north of Levin: Te Pae o Tararua highway, State Highway 2 Hawke’s Bay Expressway, Takitimu North Link Stage 1 and State Highway 29 Omanawa Bridge replacement are currently under construction. SH1 Cambridge to Piarere has entered the procurement stage and is expected to begin construction in 2027.
