What specific outcomes or targets has the Government set for the funding allocated in Budget 2026 to promote investment and trade with India, if any, and over what period are those outcomes expected to be achieved, broken down by agency, department, Crown entity, company, or other organisation for which the Minister is responsible?

Hon Todd McClay
Member for Rotorua · National Party · Minister for Trade and Investment
Answer
New Zealand will undertake trade and investment promotion activities in both India and New Zealand to highlight investment and broader business opportunities in India for New Zealand businesses. This will build on and expand existing promotional activities, including those run by NZTE and through our High Commission in India. NZTE's activities relating to India are delivered through baseline and cross agency funding. NZTE will allocate $1.65 million to support its activity in India in FY 27.
