Answered by

Rt Hon Winston Peters

List MP · NZ First · Minister of Foreign Affairs

Answer

There have been a range of discussions at the Ministerial level about transnational, serious and organised crime in the Pacific region since 1 January. Some of these discussions took place in Australia, the United States of America, and in New Zealand. Officials discuss priority issues like transnational crime with foreign counterparts in the Pacific regularly, including in the context of the Pacific Transnational Crime Summit in May 2026 and the Pacific Islands Forum Sub-Committee on Regional Security. It is not possible to collate a comprehensive list of these engagements within the timeframes for written parliamentary questions.
