How many individuals received formal disciplinary sanctions short of dismissal or termination following findings of sexual harassment in each calendar year since 2015 in relation to any staff, employees, secondees, contractors, or office holders for whom the Minister has responsibility in connection with the portfolio, if any?
Answered by
Hon Judith Collins
Member for Papakura · National Party · Minister of Defence
Answer
The Ministry of Defence had none. The New Zealand Defence Force has had five cases of sexual harassment since 2018, 1 was dismissed, 1 individual resigned before the disciplinary process concluded and the other 3 individuals received formal disciplinary sanctions (but were not dismissed). The New Zealand Defence Force does not hold centrally recorded data for the years prior to 2018.
