Answer
Genesis Energy explained the purposes for which it proposed to raise equity in its market release of 23 February 2026, which can be found here: https://www.nzx.com/announcements/467920. The Genesis equity raise was completed on 23 March 2026. The conditions attached to the Crown’s participation were outlined in the Crown Participation Letter, which can be found at the same location. Ministers received extensive advice regarding the Crown’s participation in the equity raise. The advice will be proactively released soon, subject to certain information being withheld where there would be grounds to do so under the Official Information Act 1986, such as commercial sensitivity. Once released the advice will be publicly available on the Treasury’s website.
