Answer

The Government announced measures to transform the public service as part of Budget 2026 on 28 May 2026. I am advised that Customs is considering the implications of the transformation programme and that Customs has not disestablished any roles as a consequence of the savings announced in Budget 2026. Any decisions on future full time equivalent staff reductions for Customs will be considered as part of the Government transformation programme.
