I refer the Member to the attached table, which shows the ethnicity of people who have been proceeded against for the specific offences ‘3511-Obstruct/hinder Police’ and ‘3514- Resist Police’, broken down by the percentage of proceedings the resulted in a charge and the percentage that resulted in a warning, for each ethnicity between 1 September 2024 and 30 September 2025. I am advised that there are limitations to ethnicity recording. Only one ethnicity can be recorded per individual, and if an individual identifies with an ethnicity that is not listed, their ethnicity is recorded as ‘Other’. An individual could commit multiple offences during this period and will be counted once for each offence they were proceeded against for. This is also my response to Written Parliamentary Question 2111 (2026).
