Question

  • Was the Māori Education Ministerial Advisory Group involved in the design of the proposed replacement for NCEA, and if so, what was their feedback?

Answered by

Hon Erica Stanford

Member for East Coast Bays · National Party · Minister of Education

Answer

The Māori Education Ministerial Advisory Group (MAG) provided me with advice on the proposals for change. Overall, the MAG advised me they endorsed the direction of change. Both officials and I continue to meet with the MAG to discuss how we are reflecting their feedback with the design and implementation of the new qualifications.
