Question

  • What tools, if any, does the Ministry of Social Development allow staff to use in conducting their work?

Hon Louise Upston

Answer

I am advised by the Ministry of Social Development that the Ministry utilises a range of systems and tools depending on staff roles and business needs. For the frontline, staff primarily use core operational systems, including: • Client Management System (CMS) provides staff with access to information regarding clients and the ability to manage and maintain this information • Social Welfare Information for Tomorrow Today (SWIFFT) – administers payments. • Manuals and Procedures (MAP) – A guide to Social Development Policy • HIYA/Studylink Knowledge – Contact Centre’s guide to systems. • Doogle – internal Intranet In addition, Ministry staff have access to a range of digital capabilities such as Microsoft 365 to support their work.
