Question

  • What concerns, if any, have been raised by councils outside Wellington regarding crime prevention through environmental design, personal safety, or pedestrian safety arising from new transport infrastructure?

Answered by

Hon Chris Bishop

Member for Hutt South · National Party · Minister of Transport

Answer

Ministers and officials meet with councils regularly. Where Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) or pedestrian safety concerns have been raised outside Wellington, officials have followed up through existing safety programmes and clearer processes.
