Answer

I am advised that the Ministry of Social Development (the Ministry) is unable to provide this information on the cost of employment programmes at the individual level, including their benefit type. Providing the Member with the information would require substantial collation and engagement, diverting Ministry staff from their core duties. Therefore, in accordance with Speaker’s Ruling 210/6, I do not consider that the time required, and hence the expense, of answering the Member’s question is in the public interest.
