Will any of the proposed heavy vehicle regulatory changes be made under urgency provisions that bypass standard consultation and regulatory impact analysis requirements, if so, under what authority and for what duration?

  • 17971

If the proposed heavy vehicle regulatory changes are being progressed on an urgent basis without a full Regulatory Impact Statement, what alternative regulatory impact analysis, if any, has been undertaken to assess the costs, benefits, and risks of the proposed changes?

  • 17972

Has a Regulatory Impact Statement been prepared, or is one being prepared, for the proposed changes to Vehicle Dimensions and Mass weight limits, over-dimension route and time restrictions, and EV licence-class thresholds announced as part of the Government's fuel-saving measures; if not, why not?

Answer

Analysis is ongoing, and the proposals are continuing to be subject to rigorous analysis, with Ministers receiving advice based on that analysis.
