Answer

I am advised by the Ministry of Education that there have now been 78 schools who have reported damage weather related damage since 1 January 2026; predominantly of a minor nature. Most of the damage sustained to school property was in the Lower North Island – Wellington region, Northland and a few in the Waikato.
