  • What steps, if any, will he take as a result of his belief that “there should be swimmable rivers” to ensure rivers are swimmable?

Answered by

Hon Andrew Hoggard

List MP · ACT Party · Associate Minister for the Environment

Answer

The Government is in the process of replacing the Resource Management Act 1991 with a system that supports economic growth and opportunities for New Zealanders. The Planning and Natural Environment Bills are currently before the Environment select committee and include provision for clear environmental limits.
