Answer

Ministry of Education officials have not received any instructions to use Artificial intelligence (AI) to write curriculum. However, I am advised that the Ministry has provided all staff with internal guidance in relation to the use of AI and generative AI. This guidance is publicly available and can be found on the Ministry’s website here: https://web-assets.education.govt.nz/s3fs-public/2025-06/1347660%20Appendix%20A.pdf?VersionId=nox1KXXdcbEeM_gsxv9.rhnnKfM8YTTv This is also my response to written parliamentary question 17133 (2026).
