Answer

The new Ministry for Cities, Environment, Regions and Transport will be required to comply with the standard reporting requirements for all departments, including the need to set out key performance metrics in the Budget 2026 Estimates of Appropriations and to produce a statement of Strategic Intentions. Other statutory reporting on the state of the environment (such as the recently released Our Freshwater 2026) will also continue under the new Ministry.
