I am advised that ophthalmology patients in West Coast, Lakes, Bay of Plenty and Taranaki districts can access private ophthalmology facilities in Christchurch, Rotorua, Tauranga and New Plymouth respectively. I am further advised that these communities also have access to ophthalmology services in their public hospitals.
