Question

  • When was the decision made to launch the public consultation on regulatory ideas for the fuel supply situation, and what event or threshold triggered that decision, if any?

Answered by

Hon David Seymour

Member for Epsom · ACT Party · Minister for Regulation

Answer

On 29 March 2026 the Fuel Security Ministerial Oversight Group decided to invite fuel-related submissions through the Ministry’s Red Tape Tipline. New Zealanders are often best placed to provide practical solutions to real world problems – such as during the current fuel supply situation.
