Analysis and reporting on energy supply vulnerability is led by the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and employment (MBIE). The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) has and continues to provide analysis to MBIE under this area of work. MFAT also provides analysis to Treasury as the lead for Economic Security under the National Security Strategy, and this included consideration of energy supply stocks.
