Does the Hon Mark Mitchell receive intelligence briefings from the NZSIS or GCSB in his capacity as Associate Minister; and if so, to what classification level?

Answer
In my capacity as Prime Minister and as Minister for National Security and Intelligence, I receive advice, and meet with a range of officials from the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and approriate national security agencies as required. The Associate Minister for National Security and Intelligence, Hon Mark Mitchell, received his Ministerial Warrant on 7 April 2026, and the Associate Minister will also receive advice and meet officials as required. I will not comment further on intelligence matters.
