Answer
The Ministry for the Environment's most recent, large-scale restructure occurred in 2024, resulting in a decrease of 278 FTE over two financial years. In 2025, the Ministry undertook three small, role-specific restructures, all of which were headcount neutral. The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) completed a review of its People and Capability function in February 2026, which resulted in two positions being disestablished, and three new positions being created. In March 2026, the EPA also completed a review of its Finance and Business Services team, with one role disestablished, and five new positions created.
